Artist statement
I have always been fascinated with light, shade and shadow as the real markers of form as we know it.

I have sifted through careers in lighting design, furniture making, picture framing and scenic painting for the satisfactions of creating beautiful and truthful forms, no matter how illusory or staged the setting.

Inspired by Michelangelo, influenced by Schiele and Van Gogh, these new paintings pursue the defining lines between the mercurial gifts of nature and the architecture of our own quest for enduring, eternal constructions.
About the artist
I have been drawing and painting as long as I can remember. I first got paid to paint (stage scenery) when I was 16, and since have worked as a scenic artist, lighting designer, carpenter, furniture maker, picture framer and design consultant.

I am currently a licensed painting contractor in California specializing in murals, specialty painted finishes, trompe l'oeil and commissioned artwork.

Please review my complete online portfolio for pictures & video from over sixty projects, testimonials and my current bio/CV/resume.

Thank you for taking the time to explore my work.
